REVIEW: 2025/26 Season

The 2026 season came to end last month with the Gold Coast International, closing another successful ground-breaking season for the club. During the 2025/26 Season period, we didn't just experience success on the court, but also made steps off to court with the first major investment in coach education and key investments in a player access gym and office facility, essentially giving RCF a ‘home’ for the future.

In October 2025, the club invested heavily in sending 5 of our coaching staff to Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia to sit the AFC Level 1 Licence Course. This built a new foundation to our coaching staff and resulted QLD emerging state team coaching spots for each of them.

The club also completed our first investment into infrastructure with a gym specific facility for players to train in as well as office space for the club to function for 12 months of the year.

On the court, the club continued on from the U16 treble in 2024 as we added another 6 trophies to our trophy cabinet. The following teams won their respective competitions:

  • U11 Boys – FQ Academy League Champions

  • U15 Boys – FQ Academy League Premiers

  • U15 Boys – FQ Academy League Champions

  • U15 Boys – Gold Coast International Champions

  • U16 Boys – Gold Coast International Champions

  • Men – F-League Premiers

Not only was it success in competitions but the club also saw the introduction of a new U8 Girls program which drove participation in the introductory phase. This completmented our revised player Development Framework, which also included the intrudction of our Pre-Academy Program. In it's first season, we included players from U9 and U11 who competed within the FQ Academy Program and the Gold Coast International Cup.

The club wasn’t just creating avenues here in Brisbane but also in regional QLD. 2025 saw a partnership between RCF and Mackay City Futsal United which created training opportunities for players as well as elite pathways. We conducted two holiday clinics in Mackay as well as hosting regional players in Brisbane for a holiday clinic. Our Open Women's team also went up to Hervey Bay as part of the QLD Futsal Cup and we hosted a free come and try for local players as a pre-game activation.

There was also growth experienced within our international network, there were a range of milestones in 2025. In January, we had three mens players transfer to Waikato Rapids in the NZ National League. They formed part of the squad and guided the team to the grand final for the second year in a row. The program also assisted in orchestrating Ryan Jones' transfer to English top division club, Bloomsbury as part of our international pathway while welcoming 4 New Zealand based players to our program.

The club is now in planning stages for the 2026 season which aims to be another successful year on and off the court for all programs.
