We have made some changes to our coaching and support staff for the 2025 F-League season. The offseason at River City was spent updated processes and curriculum with a focus on increasing the pathway of players from our academy into the first team set up.
The first of the changes is the introduction of new Senior Women’s Head Coach, Ronno Diniz Ferreira. Ronno comes to the club with a wealth of experience in women’s football as well as a background in futsal. He has worked within several futsal and football programs during his nine years in Australia, most notably NPL QLD clubs, Brisbane City FC (2018), Olympic FC (2022) and St George Willawong (currently). He has also got experience working with and strong ties with RCF Head Coach, Daniel Sciacca.
Coming from Brazil, Ronno holds an AFC Level 1 coaching accreditation and is currently working towards his FA A-Licence in football.
The men’s team welcomes former first team captain, Matthew Sciacca to the coaching staff. His introduction boosts our coaching staff massively by engaging his over 20 years worth of experience in futsal. This move will also allow our foundation Head Coach, Daniel Sciacca to explore overseas opportunities into 2026.
The senior program also welcomes Daniel Banks who takes on an analyst and match review role overseeing all match play and training footage as well as opposition analysis. Matthew Pickham and Conor Banim have now taken roles in the player preparation and strength and conditioning aspects.
All of our senior coaching staff will acquire the AFC Level 1 by the end of the 2025 season.
