Daniel Sciacca appointed River City Futsal Technical Director

River City Futsal is delighted to announce it has appointed internationally experienced coach, Daniel Sciacca, as the Club’s inaugural Technical Director.


Having worked in both North and South America; as an Assistant Coach of US Women’s National Team under Roxy Kamal. Sciacca also assisted Kamal with developing the curriculum at 20-time US National Champion, Gamer Futsal School. Sciacca’s international experience also includes a stint in Brazil where he was as an intern under Felipe Furtado at Olympico Clube.


During his short but experienced career, Sciacca was on the coaching staff of the US U20’s that were champions at the 2017 Pacific Futsal Cup. Locally, Daniel has established himself as a coach in a number of school-based futsal High-Performance Programs. From 2013-2017 he was Head Coach at Mansfield SHS (winning a national title and multiple state titles), 2014 Head Coach at Upper Mount Gravatt State School (2014 National Champions) and more recently from 2018-2019, he was heading the futsal department at St Andrews Lutheran on the Gold Coast.


On his appointment, Sciacca commented; ‘I’m really looking forward to the challenge of working on a new start up club. I’m determined to bring success to a club with such positive motives around player development.’


‘It’s good to be able to give an unrestricted platform for players within the Brisbane area. This will give a very good opportunity to collaborate with national and international contacts to help our players develop.’


Outside futsal, Sciacca is a teacher at Mabel Park State High School also holds a Masters of Secondary Education as well as two Bachelor’s degrees in Sports Management and International Business.
