RCF Welcomes Daniel D’Alessandro as New Academy Director

Following a remarkable 2024/2025 academy season and the continued growth of our Academy Program, River City Futsal Club is proud to announce Daniel D’Alessandro as the new academy director for the upcoming 2025/2026 season.

D’Alessandro joins the role after a highly successful year in the club’s youth program, which included leading our Under-12 team to victory at the Gold Coast International Cup in January 2025.

With extensive coaching experience across Brisbane, a proven track record and an AFC Level 1 Futsal Coaching License, he brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the academy’s leadership.

A seasoned coach, D’Alessandro has been involved in numerous prestigious roles, including working with Football Queensland’s Futsal state team programs, serving as Director of Futsal at West Moreton Anglican College, and as the Head Coach at Bulimba Bears from 2020 to 2022. His diverse experiences and achievements make him a highly valued member of River City Futsal Club, and his vision for the game sets the academy on a promising path.

Club General Manager, Mitch Sciacca shared his enthusiasm for the appointment, stating, “We’re thrilled to welcome Dan as our new academy director. His expertise and background will significantly enhance our academy program and overall member experience. Bringing in someone of his calibre is exactly what we need to take the club to new heights.”

D’Alessandro expressed his excitement for the role and his aspirations for the forthcoming season, saying, “I am honoured to step into this position and look forward to working closely with players, staff, and partners of the club. My goal for the 2025 season and beyond is to help grow the game, both within RCF and in collaboration with our current existing partner club network.”

In addition to welcoming D’Alessandro, River City FC is also expanding its academy to include pre-academy levels for Under-9 players. This will broaden the club’s academy pathway providing new opportunities for players within the club.

Trials for the River City Futsal Academy and Pre-Academy program will be held from mid-July 2025.
