SQUAD UPDATE: 2025 F-League Men

Our Men’s Head Coach, Daniel Sciacca has confirmed his squad for the upcoming F-League season. The squad sees the return of over 50% of last seasons squad, a number of youth players promoted to first team contracts, a few fresh faces and 3 international signings.

As part of our international collaboration with WaiBop in New Zealand, we have secured the services of 3 players. Kern Platts-Mills joined the squad in May from Bay of Plenty Surge, brings a wealth of experience and a strong foundation of technical and tactical ability. From Waikato Rapids, the club has signed Corbin Fell and Todd Broadhurst. Corbin comes to RCF with the perfect platform for a successful career and Todd joins RCF with plenty of experience after playing in the top league in New Zealand for a handful of years.

The core of last years QLD Futsal Cup winning squad have returned to River City for another season. The retention of players is highlighted by Ryan Jones off the back of a successful stint over in New Zealand. Ky Bowman who will wear the captain armband for 2025 is accompanied by Joshua Buxton, Harley Brown, Jaylen Vaughan and Jay Broughton. Last season’s starting goalkeeper, Daniel Aparicio has also returned to the club.

Our academy has again produced players who now move to F-League contracts. Sachin Prasad after featuring heavily for Waikato Rapids moves to a full time first team contract. Our squad is boosted from the resigning of up and coming talent, Orlando Lopez. Isiah Quinn has also received a call up after a successful 2024 youth season winning State Titles. Evan Khu after performing well down in Melbourne for QLD at Nationals has been promoted to the first team.

Our final two academy players called up to the squad for 2025 are some of our academies young up and coming talents who have both shown their high level of ability in the last 12 months. Cooper Taylor-Frey off the back of a treble winning season in U16s has gained himself a spot in the F-League squad. Our academy products are rounded out by Roman Cvjeticanin who has performed well across preseason.

Internationally experienced Matthew Joubert has joined us from South Brisbane Fury and has shown his class in pre-season, linking back up with players he has previously played with in his junior years. We are also boosted by the signing of Hayden Ibrahim who joins us from Galaxy although is still recovering from a severe knee injury.
