SQUAD UPDATE: F-League Men

With the season within three weeks away our F-League Men's team is entering their final stages of preparation. With a club wide focus on player retention, Senior Men's Head Coach, Daniel Sciacca has made sure it starts at the top by retaining close to 100% of his premiership winning squad from 2025.

We welcome the return of Corbin Fell after returning home to play for the Waikato Rapids in the NZF Futsal SuperLeague. He is joined in the goalkeeper unit by Daniel Aparicio in his fourth season at River City.

The club has also resigned youth academy products in Orlando Lopez, Sachin Prasad, Roman Cvjeticanin, Riley Wallis, James Black, Charlie Gordon and Euan Hardie.

Joint golden boot from last season, Ky Bowman returns for his third season as well as Jaylen Vaughan and Jay Broughton. The retention list is rounded out with Harley Brown returning to the club as well as 2025 season stand out in Matthew Joubert.

Daniel commented on the focus of retention by stating that “Retention makes the return to training process a lot easier as the players understand the standard required, the game style is already part of the learning process and we know as a coaching staff where we need to work on different technical and tactical abilities”

On the outgoing list the club sees the departure of Todd Broadhurst who returned to New Zealand in the offseason as well as Kern Platts-Mills who misses the upcoming season through injury. Youth player Isiah Quinn will also be sidelined for the 2026 season after sustaining an injury in January while representing Queensland at the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships.

The squad retention doesn’t just stop with the players. The coaching staff will remain unchanged heading into the new season with Daniel Sciacca leading the team, assisted by Matthew Pickham and Matthew Sciacca. With Conor Banim heading the Strength and Conditioning side and Daniel Banks managing on analysis and player development.
